QOTD: Do you replace your mascara every couple months?

All of my mascaras lined up.

It's well known that mascara has a shelf life of two to three months. However, I seem to own six different mascara bottles that I don't plan on getting rid of for a while. Each lash lacquer is different. One gives length, one gives volume, one gives separation and etc. What do you think? Am I the only one who owns more than one bottle of mascara? How long do you keep yours in your makeup box?

  1. I use them until they're gone or they smell funny which is about a year for me for the expensive ones. I am NOT going to toss it after a few months- I don't care what they say. Like you, I always seem to have 5 or 6 of them and I am NOT going to throw away expensive, good mascara based on a date if it's still good. I don't throw away the milk if it's not bad regardless of what the date says so why should I throw away my mascara? I'm the only one who ever uses it and I only apply it to clean, fresh lashes. I never pump the wand in and out forcing air in there. I never have them exposed to extreme temps like from leaving the tubes in the car in the summer or winter. I never do touch ups cause I never need to. So I figure I'm taking extra precautions with it so it should be safe to use for longer. I've never had a problem and I've always kept my mascaras till they're pretty much empty.
